About the Club
Downers Grove Camera Club was founded in 1934 and is dedicated to the pursuit and enjoyment of photography. Members come to club meetings to share their photographic expertise and knowledge.
Please note the changes to the following club descriptions. Due to the impact from COVID-19, all in person club activities have been suspended. Club competitions and programs are conducted online only till further notice.
We meet at 7:00pm on the 1st and 2nd Tuesday (and some months on the 4th Tuesday), October through May, at the Oak Trace Senior Community, located at 200 Village Drive (entrance at about 6700 S. Fairview Ave.) in Downers Grove. Our meetings are held on the first floor in the “Great Hall” of the five story residential building. Visitor parking is nearby.
The first Tuesday of the month is a competition night. The 2nd and 4th Tuesdays are dedicated to programs or workshops or social events.
As a member of the Chicago Area Camera Clubs Association (CACCA), we send the best work of our members to represent our club in its monthly competitions to be judged against the best from about 35 other Chicago area camera clubs.
Guests are always welcome – come and see what we are all about. Our many experienced members are always eager to answer questions and help those who wish to become familiar with the art of photography in its many forms.
Mix all this with a large dose of social interaction and you have an ideal setting to both learn and enjoy your hobby. There is no better place to practice your hobby and enjoy great comradeship at the same time.
